Call for Membership Proposals

Ice Cube Gallery is seeking prolific emerging and established artists and curators for juried review to become a member of one of Denver’s newest and most dynamic artist-run galleries!  We are currently seeking all themes and styles of contemporary art including performance, installation, photography, film, multi-media, light, sculpture, artist talk series, juried exhibition or any other style of contemporary art that is pushing the boundaries in concept, process, and/or material.  We are looking for prolific artists willing to take risks.

Member of another co-op or gallery?  Big ideas for a curatorial project?  Established in the Denver area but want a place to experiment and play with your art?  Fresh out of school and looking for a place to show your work?  Previously applied but don’t feel like we could “see” what you have to offer?  Apply for membership!

Membership includes:
¨      One solo show in ½ of the 2600 sq. ft. gallery for 4 weeks per calendar year
¨      Participation in all group shows throughout the year
¨      Free entry into our annual Open Call Show
¨      Shared use of 2,000 sq feet storage space on-site in the gallery basement
¨      Promotion throughout the year with print and digital media
¨      Membership in the RiNo District
¨      Creative growth and support through regular discussions and critiques
Cost: $70 monthly dues, $100 deposit and $50 key deposit, one year commitment (other types of membership may be available, including a shared membership and/or a guest membership.  Different rates may apply, please inquire if interested.)

To apply:
¨      Submit a one-page proposal outlining your ideas for your show.  Your proposal can include photographs, sketches, artist statements and explanations of the purpose, concept and/or themes of your show.  Please include anything that might help the members understand your vision for becoming a member and showing your art or curatorial project. Ie- Do you have a proposal for work that differs from your current work? 
¨      Artist resume
¨      Visual aids to help us understand your ideas (can include jpegs, hardcopies, sketches, dvds, website address, etc.  No slides, please.)
